Welcome from Chief Jim Stucky
Thank you for checking out our website. It was designed as an informational tool for our community and as a method of attracting new volunteers for our emergency services organization. Grant County Fire District 13 is an all-volunteer staffed Fire Protection District providing fire suppression, rescue, and medical aid to an area of approximately 130 square miles.
The current volunteer staff is more than just firefighters. Each of them has talents of their own when put together produce an amazing team that can get anything done. With our limited budget these folks make up the difference thru apparatus construction, (check out “Dist. 13 Love”) building construction, community events and fire prevention. Not to mention they spend countless hours training and preparing for any emergency situation to insure the protection of our citizens and visitors.
My first day of Chief was January 1, 2015. I’m confident with our volunteer staff, from the Assistant Chief, Battalion Chief and Captains to firefighters, my job will be a joy to perform. We will strive to continue the outstanding progression experienced in the last several years.
Safety and customer service is our mission! We will constantly look for additional funding through grants and other means to update equipment and apparatus so we can insure a proper, professional and safe response. I’m proud of the talented, hard working, dedicated, customer service minded men and women from our community who have joined our department. They take great pride in providing a wide range of fire suppression, EMS, rescue, minor hazardous material assistance and public education to the greater Grant County Fire District 13 area.
