  Become a Dist. 13 Firefighter

 

 
Have you ever wanted to serve your community?  

Being a volunteer firefighter is your perfect chance.  As a firefighter you're given the opportunity to receive great training that is used to keep the citizens in your community safe.  In addition, you can help keep your family safe and obtain valuable job skills that could help you in the future. 

 
Fire Dist. 13 is seeking qualified, hard working, customer service minded men and women for the position of Firefighter, Cadet Firefighter and Support Services.  

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

-At least 16 years of age

-Dedicated, reliable, hard working and possess the ability to work as a team.

-Be able to pass a written examination

-Be able to pass a criminal background check

-Be able to pass a department provided physician's wellness screening

-Pass an oral interview board

-Obtain approval from the Board of Commissioners

 
As a firefighter you are a role model in the community.  You get the chance to make a difference for your community as well as build long lasting friendships with your fellow firefighters.
 
Fire Dist. 13 has been the recipient of five consecutive DNR grants and four consecutive FEMA grants.  With these grants we have been able to update equipment and add Grant County's newest fire engine to our fleet.  These grants have also allowed us to purchase our new 45,000 square foot fire station complete with resident quarters.  Volunteers are an integral part of renovating and updating equipment with funds from these grants.  As a volunteer firefighter you will enjoy quality training, new equipment and the chance to shape the future of Grant County Fire District 13!
